Momentum using footage of Coca-Cola is rather different to the Conservative party editing footage from the BBC and using it to promote themselves on Facebook.

Also Mushtoom25, The public could easily tell that the Coca Cola video that was making the rounds was edited.
Not all could tell that the edited BBC footage was edited.

Naomi, the conservative party "used edited BBC news footage about Brexit."

The footage "was seen at least 350,000 times"

"The Conservative Party refused a request to pull the adverts and claimed the footage had not been edited “in a manner that misleads or changes the reporting”."

I know what the tweet says - but I've no idea what they edited or how. The BBC's concerns that it “could damage perceptions of our impartiality” is surely a joke. The BBC impartial? Ho ho ho!

irrelevant. the Coca-Cola company aren't interested in editing quality or not, they're interested in the use of their protected trade marked images being used without permission. a very expensive lawsuit would likely have resulted.

This is about the conservative party (not a company that is in favour of them) actively editing BBC footage (which I pay 13.20 each month to not be bias) to then spread it around Facebook to hundreds of thousands of people.

Facebook has a no fake news policy, that was recently implemented, so this act from the con party is actually very malicious.

As far as I can tell nothing was changed but the BBC complained they were taken out of context. Pity one can not judge for oneself any longer.
