No Wi-Fi Connection Via Laptop
7 Answers
Howdy, I've lost all connection between laptop and the world.
No network is seen as available although other devices are working fine as was the laptop earlier.
I've checked that Firefox is okay through the firewall, reset modem, turned laptop off and back on but still have an icon of the world with a 'no entry' overlaid showing where the Wi-Fi strength indicator would normally be.
Lenovo laptop, Sky broadband, normally operating on Firefox.
Anything spring to mind with those more versed in IT than me?
Thanks

If all else fails of course have you looked in settings? Windows key. Then little cog wheel(says settings when you hover the cursor) Then Network and Internet. Then Wifi and check your settings and whether it is picking up your router. If the router is not showing in settings, try activating WPS on the router and WPS in the lappie settings.
Well hello there. :-)
After removing the battery etc on restarting a message popped up from Windows Defender giving me options on local WiFi connections, my own included.
Password in and, hey Prestwick, back in the game.
Thank you both for taking the time to help a lost soul in need.
Fingers crossed we're back to normality.
