JJ, it's the waiting i can't handle, it's nearly 5 weeks since the assessment - and i wanted this clarified before Christmas.
Question Author
which it doesn't look as though it will be
I do think you will be ok - waiting for anything is awful.

very true, thanks for the support.. its most welcome
I am amazed . How many Tory supporters on this post who know all about the benefits system, and seem like they are all on benefits, and yet they blame The Labour supporters for being Idle scroungers.
//Theland/Nailit, for goodness sake stop polishing each others halo//
No polishing of halos, as you well know, just an agreement. (a rarity on AB as you know naomi) but just an agreement nevertheless!
emmie,
you've got jack chance of getting PIP
(As has anyone else under this government)
I just can't bring myself to feel in debt to the employers I had for employing me!
They needed my skills, and I needed their money.
Grateful? No, not at all. Simple trade off.
I find it irritating when it is suggested on here that billionaires are the backbone of the country.
Spoke to my son today, now six weeks since his assessment and still waiting. (I thought it had been longer.)
That comment doesn't give Emmie much hope Nailit, people do successfully make the move from DLA to PIP and Emmie may well be one of them.
About 70% of people who appeal a negative decision are successful, so the first knock back is almost to be expected.

As do I mamy.
Theland - the reason (or one of them) that many people are not awarded PIP/DLA at the first claim is that they fail to give all relevant information on the forms.

I'm not saying that it is all the claimant's fault - some DWP forms are not very user-friendly.

I agree. But claimants are not allowed to record the interview, and it has been shown many times how answers are twisted to justify a knock back.
Also, assessors were, maybe still are, paid a bonus for knock backs.
well Emmie suffers from so many ailments - I think she will be successful and I do hope so.
