Frustration With Deliveries

Just a rant - is anyone else like me spitting teeth over parcel deliveries not arriving when they say they will? I have had so much trouble with DPD this week the red mist is coming down - despite texts with time slots and driver's name nothing arrives, the most infuriating is the message the driver couldn't deliver because they didn't want to leave things unattended when you know you were in (and when I've set up preferences of what to do if I was out). It's really bad for my health, it makes me so angry.

Jourdain...I'm not housebound.

Baz - the front door wasn't locked. He knocked and by the time I got up to answer he was standing in my hallway.

The front door stays locked now.
Royal Mail should have delivered our parcel yesterday between 11:30 and 14:30.
Mrs T got up just before 09:00, and the card was already in the hall, "Sorry but ...... ", now she has to go to the main Post Office tomorrow and collect it, and we paid £4.50 for the privelege.
Ummm - I didn't realise you were talking about yourself with the postie, sorry.
That's OK. It was a bit freaky though. Me on my own and he had to open two doors to get into my hall!!

Theland...Royal Mail do a redirect. Look at the card and it gives you the email address to book it. I did it the other day. Missed a delivery last Friday (I was in the bath) and rebooked it for Monday...FOC.

Have to say the only one who isn't a problem is the postman - he's a regular and knows all sorts of places to leave things when we're out, he also knows our cars and we are in.
I go t a text to say my parcel had been successfully delivered, to the woodshed as we weren't in. I was sitting, sniffingn on the sofa and never saw a van and certainly no-one rang the bell. Other than that I'v e had no problems, in fact an M and S order arrived a couple of days early.
Our postmen/women change daily. The poor fella who delivered to me the other day was manic with online orders. He was delivering to at least 4 houses at the same time.
Touch wood, I've had no problems yet/recently. But I've lost faith in Hermes due to several deliveries going haywire over the summer, including one item lost. The posties here are fine. We had the same guy for about 10 years and he charged from house to house and flat to flat like a maniac. The new, younger ones are careful and considerate.
I wasn't saying anything bad about the postie. He did it with a smile on his face.
I get loads of deliveries and (touch wood) I’ve never had a problem. The Amazon man today even apologised that the corner of my parcel was wet but the contents were fine. The Hermes man seems to deliver for lots of other delivery services too and he knows where to leave parcels if I’m out.
^^^ Our Hermes deliverer - a plump, pleasant blonde lady - is used to leaving neighbours' parcels with us and knows my name and where to leave things. Bless her, she beams when she says 'This one is actually for you!'
Caught one deliverer trying to escape by accident.
Opened front door to see him turning around to leave.
Oh, I didn't think you were in says he.
You never came to my door to find out, says I.

Proof was no footprints in the snow.

Anyway, if anyone would like to complain about the delivery company, complain to the company you purchased from, it's up to them who they use and if enough complaints, they might change who they use if they want to keep customers.
I ordered an item from Amazon at 10:00 Friday evening, with delivery due next Wednesday/Thursday. Received an email from Amazon Saturday evening at 9:00 saying it had been despatched. The courier rang my doorbell at midday today with my order complete. That's what I call good service.
A low paid job, only generates negative interest, add to this the stress they have in getting from A to B traffic jams, their only interest is to get rid of your parcel wherever. But their need to realise that people have paid good money out for their goods, and take responsibility for them, or find other work.
