Em, here's your new Timeline update
You're receiving this monthly email because you turned on Location History, a Google Account-level setting that saves where you go in your private Timeline.
Location History data also helps to give you personalised information on Google, including better restaurant recommendations and suggestions for a faster commute. You can view, edit and delete this data at any time in Timeline.

You don't mean to say that you use Google Chrome which will track your every move on the Internet.!! Get a better Browser such as Firefox.

Have a look here:

You can turn on/off various settings and you'll find location history in there as well :)

I use Chrome for only one thing
my browser of choice is Firefox

Your Timeline is not about the internet .. it is a useful item that is linked to GPS on your phone. It shows you exactly where you have physicaly been, as long as you had your phone with you.
To find it on your phone go to Google maps ..
In the top left of the screen you will find 3 bars.
Click on them ..
Second onedown is .. timeline... Click on that.
Look on the calendar and on any given day you can see where you were .. how far you travelled and what route you took and lots more.
If you are like me and cant remember yesterday, it can be quite a useful tool.

If you dont want it tracking you .. go to the top right of the screen where you will find 3 dots..
Click on them and you will see privacy and settings.
From here you can turn it off.
My guess is you will spend the afternoon looking at where you were weeks ago !
I have it and find it fascinating when it knows precisely where you were and for exactly how long. I can't see any disadvantage in it for an honest person.
Remember to turn it off if you think you may need an alibi ..!
Surely a big gap in your movements would be suspicious?

i don't go far these days so it's pointless trying to track me..
