This has come round again and, as ever, I am struggling a bit. So any suggestions welcome.
Under heading "Women - famous and infamous": Titled girl with chalet played it long (4,9); Did she inspire fear on stage - that's the question (8,5)
Under heading "Communications": Be equipped to succeed online (4,4,1,1,5)

Scorpiojo, yes it must be "hit the headlines" - not their best ever clue, I think. As for the communications clue, "make your P C ready" would fit but is not convincing. Ah well, more head scratching!

Hey semajnai, I thought the purpose here was to seek help, not just ask for all the answers. You may as well post the whole quiz. It spoils it for other quizzers who like to work out the answers for themselves.

bluesplayer, I am sorry that you are upset by my asking for help. I am quite new to this website and have followed a pattern that seems well established and used by many other contributors. I have also offered suggestion/given help on another strand. But OK, that's it from me.

Eye catching...I had “hog the limelight” but think your answer of “ hit the headlines” is the better one.
semajnai...I also got rebuked for asking for help, but I enjoy trying to work out clues that others have posted even though I’m not entering that quiz and I’m sure others try to answer our questions out of interest/fun or to be helpful.
