Pretty sure I've adked a similar question in the past but I can't be bothered to trawl through pages of my posts.
Anyway, I have been getting quite bad toes cramps lately and one of my mates mentioned drinking tonic water for it. I've tried googling but there seems to be mixed opinions on whether this works or not. Does anyone know for definite?
I get this too. My podiatrist recommended drinking Indian Tonic Water as there is quinine in it, but I have been told by others that there isn't enough in a glass or two that would make any difference.
I started taking quinine tablets for cramps when they suddenly went from 2 or 3 a year to 2 or 3 a week. They work, but they've made my hearing a lot worse.
Never been convinced of the efficacy of redydration or quinine as a method of curing cramps in the foot.
Are you suffering from any pre-existing medical condition e.g diabetes or poor circulation?
If your problem is just in the winter.....then try a hot water bottle at your feet.
Sqad, yes, I should have made clear mine were leg cramps, not toe or foot. They vanished from day 1, though, so if it wasn't the quinine it was a mighty big coincidence.
I get cramp in all parts of my body; arms, back, neck etc. Not the usual parts that lots of people experience. I've tried tonic water to no avail. I even tried quinine tablets. They didn't work either. I just put up with it now
