i'm 27 years old, when i was about 16 i suffered from 2 ingrowing toe nails. one on each big toe, i was advised to have them opperated on and had them removed. i'm now left with 2 very unsightly big toes. i find it very embarrassing going swimming or to the beach. is there any thing that can be done to make them look any better??

Im 17 years old and suffered from around 3-4 ingrown toenails on the same big toe and one on the other. It is really painful but each time I got a chunk of my toenail taken off.....but it seems to have grown back each time causing the same thing.
The last time I had it done....it grew back but thankfully ive not had an ingrown toenail for a while.
My big toes are a horrible sight aswell but ive learned to live with it, I think wearing nail polish makes your toes stand out more...resulting in people noticing your toes more.

When I first started seeing my boyfriend I was always very nervous about him seeing my toes and wore socks all the time. In the end I gave up, whats the point in hiding? If he doesn't like me because of my feet he can ****** off lol.
We have been going out for over a year and he has never complained especially when I told him about my toes. He always says I have cute wee feet.....but wee? im a size 7.

So if I were you I wouldn't worry what other people think. You see lots of horrible looking feet everyday....if someone doesn't like it, thats their prob!

Dependant on the exact foot situation, you can buy artificial toe nails. like artificial finger nails but for your feet.
no doubt you feel they stand out like sore... thumbs... but really, toes are about the last things anyone notices in anyone else (unless they're sensitive about their own), and I never in all my long life heard of anyone laughing at someone's toes.
Sorry if I'm a bit late to this post. I had my left big toenail removed last year and it looks like I may have to have the right one removed at some future date. Like you I was a bit embarrassed but found that unless I actually pointed it out, no-one had even noticed! This year I actually put nail varnish on and I've not had one comment or sly look. Forget about it, there are people out there with far worse afflictions and people only tend to look at your face (or if you're a woman, like me, your boobs ;-))
