Not sure about the Charleston but Louise Brooks' bob was very fashionable for years. Still quite popular now.

Not around then of course, but the 20s is my favourite era. A period of happiness after WW1 and a time of fantastic jazz music ( Joe ' King' Oliver, Louis Armstrong's Hot 5 & 7 etc) , let-your- air-down dancing and the release of women from corsets and head-to toe covering. Goodbye stuffy Victorianism, hello freedom.
Not quite so good if you were broke, though.
A fore-runner of the 1960s in a way.
