Although dyscalculia is an accepted condition/label and has been defined as " Students with dyscalculia have difficulty understanding simple number concepts, lack an intuitive grasp of numbers, and have problems learning number facts and procedures" I have never been clear how it differs from 'not being good at arithmetic'.
It's not uncommon to be good at some things but not others. I can't read music or draw but I'm not sure a label (if there is one) would help
And no don't worry TonyV I didn't find you're remarks disparaging at all...and can see why you figured it may be homework lol.
Fiction Factory I've never being diagnosed with dyscalculia - I've only heard of it in recent years. However, I think that what I struggle with is more than simply "not been good at maths" - it's like ANY thing with numbers - telling time, counting simple change. My husband is dyslexic so at least between us we can figure things out hahah !
