Ive suffered from social anxiety issues on and off for years. (to the extent of becoming suicidal and being hospitalised). Tried CBT therapy, meds, even acupuncture but nothing really helped. (except self medicating with alcohol and tranquelizers) Had times when I couldnt even get on a bloody bus. People dont know how debilitating it can be.
Dont know exactly how, but somehow Im now not so bad. Think its mostly getting some self esteem back (in my own case getting work with people that I love to work with at a job that I love)
