18 and unemployed

I've posted this in two areas because I wasnt sure which was more relevant but I have just left my part time job of 1 and a half years due to awful practise. However, this now means I've just turned 18 but am unemployed. Im due to start uni in september, and I have books and things I need to buy. Does anyone know if I am entitled to any benfits based on my income or my parents?
