As regards Kaspersky Internet Security Suite. Have you already paid for it? If not try out Avast for free here https://www.avast.com/en-gb/for-windows It will 'nag' you occasionally to upgrade, but just ignore it and close the window. Have been using it for quite some time with no issues

Well I can trump all that and believe me when something really goes wrong it puts 'appliance malfunction' into perspective. Sold House due to exchange/complete 8th January, building bungalow so needed temp accommodation for a few months so paid £800 for one months rent on holiday cottage, moved all stuff out into storage,2 hours before Exchange/completion buyer pulled out -their chain' had broken down. So now have to live in a very cold mouldy holiday cottage while our lovely warm clean house remains empty while we are hoping the chain can re-engage shortly and everyone can move forward. Today we've found out all sales are off - so we have to move everything back into our home. But, no ones died so that's a plus I suppose, but I'd swop for an Internet malfunction I really would :-)
I suppose your experience highlights the problem with Exchange and Completion on the same day Aunt Polly. Had your prospective buyer put a deposit down upon Exchange they would have to forfeit it after pulling out. I've been lucky I have Exchanged and Completed on the same day twice with no problem. I bet you're mightily miffed, I would be.
Emmie, I would swap your problems for mine any day.
Auntpolly sorry to hear of your experience, can you afford to wait for spring when historically house sales tend to go through quicker and at best prices.
Tony we've gone to plan 'B', move back into our house and when the bungalow's built then either put the house back on the market or sell it then -probably April/May. We live in a tourist area so actual renting out as a holiday cottage instead of selling would be more lucrative but much more hassle.

ladybirdy I totally agree about the problems of Exchange/Completion on same day and had originally planned 7 days between both. Our buyer insisted we do it the same day as their buyer was Exchanging/Completing the same day as was the rest of the small 'chain'. I'm tempted to draw a petition to have the Law changed to selling houses on the Scotland model it works very well there and indeed in every other country, where this sort of thing is unheard of.

life is just one damned thing after another
sorry aunt poll
but tray true - no ones dead so it is but minor

new year should be good for selling post brexit and bear in mind that 2/3 chains fall thro
so exvhange and complete on same day was probably intentional
Question Author
perhaps these seem trivial, i know some who are having serious problems, but these are niggles that have turned into a serious threat to my temper. Not to mention battling the DWP over benefit problems, aaaagggrrrr
