what alevels to choose?

hiya i'm awaiting gcse results. will be doing alevels in sept. but not sure what to take. intrested in law and want to know i i have to do history at alevel to become a lawyer/solicitor/barrister...
any help/advice will be appreciated. many thanks x

The only advice I would give anyone as regard A-levels is to do subjeects you're interested in, rather than ones you think you should do, or that you're good at. Cut's out regrets later on in life!

There are no restrictions to the a levels you need for a career in the law, just good academic subjects (not dance/drama/PE etc) with very good grades. The advice I would give is do not do law at a level, what you learn is too simplistic to be any use and you then have to 'unlearn' it when you do law at degree level or conversion course. Most red brick universities prefer you not to have done it. Dont apply to 'ex-polytechnic' universities, keep it to the red brick ones as otherwise your degree will be worth very little with most law firms or chambers.
