I honestly believe that put to a referendum the result would be abolition of the House Of Lords and the Royalty.

I don't think the current situation will in any way mean the end of the Monarchy in the UK. It's just another Edward and Mrs Simpson situation and won't have a huge impact in the greater scheme of things.
