Hi Tony - yes in some places, at least most on the island are out, but some in the eastern states are in inaccessible areas and will take ages to burn out....it ain't over yet, I'm afraid.

Hope the rain reaches you soon. I saw that there had been heavy storms on the West coast where that 3 year old girl went missing, luckily since found.

At least we are getting some cooler days which all helps but when the police arrest a 13yr old girl lighting fires you really do wonder !!

Mr S isn’t doing too badly, any chest infection was headed off but any treatment has been postponed for a few weeks hoping to build up his strength- thanks :))

IMO the 'greens' have a lot to answer for when they persuaded the Government to pass laws preventing the controlled annual burning of undergrowth / deadwood and the creation of firebreaks !
