does anyone know if there is any truth in the oldwives tale that a heart rate greater than 140 indicates the baby is a girl, and below a boy? i would've thought the babies weight rather than sex would determine the heart rate.

When I was in labour, a very experienced mid-wife confidently announced that judging by the heart beat the baby was a little boy. To encourage me she started calling him Jack (the name we would have chosen) surprise surprise it was a little girl!!!!!!
