Watched the film 'Joker' last night and I have to say it's one of the best films I've seen in quite some time. Very dark and Gothic, it gives a possible take on how the character came to be one of Batman's fiercest enemies. Joaquin Phoenix is in excellent form as the rather unfortunate Arthur Fleck and surely awards will follow. Anyone else seen it?
I haven't seen it Ken but my son did. He said it was good. Praised actor who played the Joker. If he said it was good, it must be, as he is very critical!
I'm looking forward to seeing it, my two favourites playing the joker were Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's Batman and the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. But have say the new one does look really good.
Another plus is that Batman isn't in it. Unless you count a brief scene in which a very young Bruce Wayne appears. And any attempt to compare Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of Joker with that of any other actor is rather futile as the film only deals with what may possibly have triggered his descent into madness and mayhem. Possibly leaving the way open for a follow up where he actually does 'business' with Batman?
You recovered from Wednesday night yet, Arky? :-)
^
Yeah, but just in case some don't know which United, i'm talking about the United who were beaten 2-0 - at home (The Theatre of Nightmares) by The Super Clarets.
Sorry Arky. Promise to mention it less and less as the novelty (1962 last time) wears off:-)
Well done to your team Kenneth... you've started to come across like a *** littlepool fan. I'm related to a few (A lot in fact) banter can wear very thin after a while.
Wish I knew what your 'Sunday' name was:-)
Wrote a bet out on my pad, last night, £5 win Littlepool 2-1. Then, for whatever inexplicable reason, when I came to put it on I went for a 2-0 win, instead. I think the word is Doh! :-(
