Boy #1 has been invited to stand for one of the positions on the paramedic society’s committee at his university. He’s one of only two first year students who have been invited (the rest being the second year students). I have no idea what the paramedic society does but he must have made a good impression somewhere.
When he gets on to the committee, he should encourage them to update their website. The committee details are out of date and the Facebook link goes to the Sunderland Paramedic Society!

However, unless things have changed a lot since my day, I thought the purpose of ALL student union societies was to provide an excuse for getting p$shed!
PS: I've just remembered that I got elected onto the committee of the local branch of the Mathematical Association during my first year at college. I ended up a few years later helping to organise the Association's national conference and then representing the Association at an international conference in Adelaide.
Your son might well be onto a good thing, I reckon!
Buenchico, it seems to have changed a lot - he very rarely goes to a pub, preferring the gym or library and he spends ages writing his essays and revising (he did not get those traits from me or his dad).
Boy #1 : "I'd like to bring up the issue with our website. The committee details are out of date and the Facebook link goes to the Sunderland Paramedic Society!"
Paramedic Society’s Committee : "Well volunteered that student. Your job while you are here."
