I remember seeing last year a movie where by woman was involved in a hit and run or something similar, but she gets amnesia and someone who isn't her husband claims to be her husband. He takes from hospital to his house out in country. Her phone doesn't work. She tries to escape but can't. Eventually a copper comes looking for and he gets hit over the head.

No I don't think that is the one. It all happened over a much shorter time. A black police officer was doing the investigation, and eventually tracks the woman down. Something didn't ring true and he went back and spoke to the nurse. I am sure the woman just went out to get something from shop when it all happened.
