today i treated myself to a trip to quite a fancy salon to get my hair cut rather than the cheap random ones i normally go to. i had quite a drastic change from very long hair to a bob. the woman who cut my hair asked me if i wanted to keep the hair she cut off. to me it seems the weirdest thing to ask someone. any ideas why? is it something a lot of hairdressers ask everyone or did she just think that because my hair was quite long i might be emotionally attached to it in some strange way? and what would i do with it, take home in a carrier bag, and then what? i'm totally bemused
I did keep my kids hair when it was cut few years back from long, but then again i always keep a snippet of the youngest ones hair every time, sad, probably!
I've been asked this before too at my hair salon. You can actually sell your hair to various hair colleges and they pay you for it. Also, a friend of mine decided to keep her hair after getting cut as it had sentimental value to her. Everyone feels different about their hair i guess.....
Lotsof people donate hair to cancer charities but you can sell it too. Also, where do you live ketchup kid? I live in the new forest and a lot of gardens have problems with deer getting in and eating everything - local people get hair from hair dressers and stuff it in old tights and tie them in the garden as the 'human' smell deters the deer? Weird but true.
