I think putting all those people on a plane together is a breeding ground for this virus as some of them are bound to be infectious

I don't know about "bound to be". I'm somewhat uneasy about the potentially affected being transported elsewhere though.
What would you do with them instead?
No, not really. They will be temperature checked before they get on the aircraft anyway.

The thing is that the virus can be active before any symptoms appear as with all types of virus.
According to a Cambridge professor this morning the virus is hard to catch until the infected person starts coughing and sneezing. You could get it with close intimate contact but I guess no one is going to snog anyone on the plane :-)
As for the air -air is cleaned and filtered on a plane every 10 minutes so you are more likely to catch is in the airport than on the plane.
There are experts paid a lot of money to organise these things and whilst they can make mistakes, me worrying about it won't change it.

I hope they get everyone home safely.

no they arent incredibly
at least they werent when I was listening

they arent sure if a dead animal has to come in between - which means that quarantine is a waste of time and money
and there is still doubt whether human to human transmission occurs or is an important factor

further there is doubt about whether the chinese govt would lie about something so important
yes it turns out they would and have

the public health authorities over ebola were just like the police at London Bridge I - they did the wrong thing, insisted they hadnt and no lessons were there to be learnt (*)

and so ..... it is all being done differently this time.

(*) they struck off the health workers - oops! as a result of false allegations made by public health. oh dear oh dear. whilst others bleated that they would never get volunteers to do this again.
Those involved have been - - - deathly silent this time
no auxiliary volunteers in sight
Those on the plane bound for the UK are destined for 14 days in quarentine at Brize Norton.
Actually being quarantined on the Wirral, via bus from Brize Norton. They will be protected from each other on the way.

they will be quarantined for up to 14 days at a facility.
surely the real problem is the thousands who have come from China just before this latest outbreak. The only advice that's been given to those, as it's impossible to trace them all, is to self quarantine. Fine and dandy..
Cathay come home.
