Just in case anyone has an idea, my key fob has a rubber/plastic portion covering part of it, which has the buttons attached for the various functions, which is coming off. I have tried gluing with a contact adhesive but this hasn't worked so my question is:
Has anyone managed to repair this type of key fob, and if so how?
I don't particularly want to go to a dealer for a replacement as from experience with a previous car it will cost a fair bit.
Contact adhesive is meant for larger areas/surfaces.
You would propably have got a better result with superglue. Should you want to retry with superglue, makesure both surfaces are clean with no residue left over from the contact adhesive.
There are online services where you send them your key, they take the innards out and put them into a brand new casing. They're usually a lot cheaper than getting a new key through a main dealer.
