Has anyone actually received one of these in their change today?

I'm still waiting to see one of the alphabet 10p coins.

Not yet but I keep a look out.

Funny thing happened at work today.

An old bloke gave me a Paddington 50p in his change to pay and I said, oh this is a special one do you want to keep it.

He rather grumpily said No I don’t, I think we will be desperate to rejoin in a few years.

Me being me, looked at him and smiled and said I absolutely and completely disagree with you and we will never return. And then I simply walked away.

I don’t think I was his favourite server today.
I'm wondering how many of those with the original date on are still around. I should think they'll be valuable in a hundred years or so.
I'm also waiting to see the 10p coins, didn't think I would have to wait this long. The new £20 come out this month don't they?
Not yet. I have begun to collect 'different' 50p coins. Some of them are worth £2.50! Riches beckon!
LUDWIG, when you say "original date" do you mean the date we were first meant to leave or the 1973 50p coin?
I think it should be called a 'teentsy' because it is worth so littel
in fact a shilluns worth at 1973 - yes boys and gurlz the value of our money has fallen by a factor of ten since decimalisation
I remember one poster saying she was collecting the alphabet 10p coins. I hadn't heard of them up till then but as yet have never seen one. They issue so many"special coins" now that I don't think they will be worth that much anyway..
You may find one in your change but I doubt it. Anyone with any sense would put it to one side!

The royal mint has been flooded (metaphor) and no one will receive theirs until the mint can supply to the order.

Anyone ordering from Westminster Collection (Max 9 per household) will receive theirs after the 13th.

It seemed, it garuntee the coin it was worth going to westminster collection. To get the coin sooner it was best to go via the mint, although there were queues for the website (and they were slightly more expensive!)
Regarding the alphabet 10ps, no one found any because anyone who did put them so one side.

You can buy the entire collection online for about £40
"I don't think they will be worth that much anyway.."

They're worth as much as someone wants to pay for them, and that will always be the case with things like coin and stamp collecting.
We’ve got quite a few alphabet 10p’s and I also bought some which I framed for each of my kids. We’ve got quite a nice little collection of 50p’s and £2 coins, but no unusual £1 coins yet.
Ps - you can use the coin checker index to find out more about how ‘rare’ your coins are.
