Anyone else feel that the latest series so far is rather laboured and has lost its spark? Seems to be struggling to find decent storylines, too, though the camp assistant is just as annoying as before.

I don't think Mark Benton's haircut helps. He seems to have lost some of his character along with his hair.
I felt the same way about the new series of Father Brown. Characters were fine, but some of the story lines left a bit to be desired.
The BBC need to employ better writers. Perhaps because it's 'daytime TV' they're not really bothered.

can't watch shows like this, it is laboured and wooden
i did see one the other day, but decided that i wouldn't watch any more. Same for Father Brown, all those people ending up dead,, it's absurd...
