Click http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10551a.htm for an authoritative website about Mont St Michel. There, it says the abbey was founded in 708 AD. That is over three centuries before the Crusades even started, so it seems what you suggest is unlikely. (There may, of course, have been later additions that fit your description.)
