How do people afford to deep fat fry things, price of oil isn't cheap. I'd use ground nut oil and that's £1.80 for 250 ml and you'd need more than that!
I threw away my deep fat fryer years ago. I mainly use a hot air fryer now - only a tiny bit of oil used and I use rape-seed oil which is healthier than most and cheap. Exceptions are roast spuds etc - when I use lard or goose/duck fat in a frying pan to coat them (after parboiling) before putting them in the oven.
I always thought there are dangers with reheating vegetable oil. Something about free radicals etc. I don`t think it is a good thing to do. I never deep fry anyway
