While I'm obviously not defending that idiotic driver, the vast majority of truckers on our roads are far better drivers than most people behing the wheels of cars.
During the 2½ years I spent 'trade plating', I hitched well over a thousand lifts from truckers, van drivers and car drivers, so I got to see close up what their standards of driving were like. Very few truckers ever gave me cause for concern with the standard of their driving but there were several occasions when I had to ask a car driver to let me out because I feared for my life!

Some people seem to be totally oblivious to a multitude of signs warning them about average speed cameras, including this guy:

Almost certainly a non UK registered truck, as there is no kerb mirror fitted above the left door and the above windscreen mirror is on the right side, so a left hand drive truck. What is odd to me is why the driver didn't just go over the top of the junction and down the other side? Had to do that a few times when I drove on the continent and got off a junction early!

there is no "other side" (on ramp) at that location, Long Acres, at the north end of the M6 Toll. it's easy enough to get back on track by following the A460 down to M6 J11, but the driver may not have realised that.

it's not the first time it's happened at that location either - here's another example....
