Hi,

There is a news article about a hotel in Tenerife that are on lockdown due to the Coronavirus.

If people have to stay over their time to go home, who pays for the hotel and new plane ticket etc?

You'd like to think so Bobbi but sometimes these places demand money up front.
I would just threaten to sneeze on them should they ask me to pay for the room. :0)
I imagine the insurance companies will pay but I'm not sure how retaining their rooms will work. I assume these people are on a package holiday and therefore other people booked on a package at that hotel will shortly be arriving expecting their rooms to be available. I guess they'll be accommodated elsewhere.
If under official quarantine I'd doubt that the hotel had the right to sling folk out for not paying in advance. It'd defeat the object of quarantine.
Oh there's no danger of new arrivals wanting their rooms!

Their tour operators will find them alternatives, while those who direct booked will have to sort the problem themselves, I guess.
