vectra tapping noise

my vauxhall vectra sri 2000 model makes a tapping noise when its been ticking over for around 5 mins but when i drive it doesnt do it drives sweet and the tapping goes ive checked my oil and its clean and theres plenty in any ideas guys?????

do an oil & filter change thats about the best you can do. you dont say how many miles your car has done. if you need to replace the hydraulic tappets it will cost a bomb. sorry shouldnt have said that word the way things are. !!!

worn tappets. once did 50k 85k-135k in an astra gte which tapped from cold for a few minutes, always intended fixing it, never did.
