Just been to the dentist and heard the receptionist take a call from someone who needed to check the address and postcode of the practice to put in their satnav. Won't repeat everything she said but it ended with Q for Cuba. Made me smile.
A colleague of mine stating ' G' for grapes .
Well , G can be for grapes , i hear you say , which is indeed correct , if you are not phonetically speaking
However it just made me and another colleague laugh
I have had to use the Nato phonetic alphabet and the 24hr clock all my working life. I now have got into the habit of using Lat/Long GPS co-ordinates for finding addresses abroad when driving there.
I was in the waiting room this morning when a man came in for his 11.50 am appointment. Receptionist asked his name and told him she didn't have a record of his appointment, after asking for DOB and address she said he wasn't even registered with the practice.
He had definitely got lost.
