David Jason - National Treasure Or Greedy Old *** ??

In light of the recent news that David Jason, 80, is charging up to £375.00 for a signed photograph with him, would you say he was a national treasure as loveable rogue Del Boy or a desperate old greedy man who has been milking a comedy career that ended over two decades ago???

Obviously not as it was a charity event, but even if it wasn't, nobody is forcing anyone to part with their hard earned.

I'm not a huge fan, but he's definitely a UK comedy icon.

He should be applauded at the grand old age of 80 for making such a generous charitable gesture.

As has been pointed out nicelander, David Jason is not 'charging up to £375 for a signed photograph with him' at all.

The fee is part of a package, the profits from which go to charity, so Sir David is not receiving anything from this situation.

I would say that his offer to partake increases his 'national treasure' status, and in no way indicates that he is desperate, or greedy in any way shape or form.

In my humble opinion he is a national treasure and was brilliant in OFAH and as he was doing this for charity, I don't understand the gripe.

I liked him in Open All Hours and Fools and Horses, but didn't likehim in Frost at all. I don't consider him a National Treasure. To be honest he irritates me. I wouldn' t want signed photo of anybody, especially if I had to pay. I missed my chance of the Beatles autographs in 1962. That would have been worth something now!

Oh yes, and isn't it so annoying? We refused to buy from one seller because he insisted on saying it. The other irritant was Asda price.
