My husband's family were refugees. He was a child when he came into this country. They didn't come in with loads of others and swiftly learned our language and adapted to our ways. Multicultura l is only a problem when immigrants come in large numbers and expect to live as they used to with an entirely different culture.

//OK well the issue here is lack of efficient communication as well as the person who employed her.//
No it isn’t. The issue here is why was she ever employed in the first place?
//This has nothing to do with multiculturalism.//
I think I’ve explained why I believe that it has and the connection lies with the answer to the above question.
//Inability to communicate effectively is a perfectly valid reason not to employ someone.//
Indeed. So it brings you back, again, to the question above. Perhaps you have a better answer to it than I have.

//The logical questions to ask are how did she manage at her interview, and who decided she was fit for the job? Whoever that was should lose his/her job also.//
Look at me, agreeing with Naomi *checks outside for airborne hogs*
This is the crux of the matter. How did this happen? Why did it happen? Who is responsible? What needs to be done to stop it happening again?
People seem to be so intent on using this as a crutch to support their own feelings on multiculturalism, that these questions are not being asked.
