My husband and I live in a new build house where the kitchen, dining room and living room are all just one room. The wooden floor is always covered in crumbs. We'd like a long handle, cordless sort of hoover to use every day or so. Any suggestions please ?

I’ve just bought a Dyson V7. It’s brilliant and I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to go, cordless. There are more powerful Dysons but this suited my budget.
Keep off Dyson,in my opinion.
Dysons are overrated plastic monstrosities - I've never liked them.
Treat yourself to a Shark. I've had mine for nearly 3 years now and I only wish I'd discovered them sooner.

I hate Dysons and sharks, I sent both back because they were so heavy and not worth it, for their effectiveness. I ended up with a second gtech, which is miles better.
Pixie:
My cousin has a GTech vac and loves it but occasionally borrows my Shark for a proper deep clean. The Sharks are heavy but built to last.
Suppose it all depends on your budget and what you want to get out of your vacuum cleaner usage. Before my Shark I had a wee Henry Hoover.
Dyson v10 or better, the newest design you can afford
Definitely a cordless Dyson....all of their cordless models are Which? Best Buys.
But they're all outrageously expensive for what they are.
