I just had a run in with such a nice lady in Sainsburys. She'd spread her shopping on the conveyor belt with lots of empty space both at the til end, and between her items. She then put the divider down right on the edge. I asked if she could move her things a bit so I could put my few items down. Oh no...she said she had to wait until the belt moved...and anyway, I didn't have much so I could wait. I asked, what if I had a full basket? Oh,"you can just put it down on the empty ones". I asked what she thought we did before we had conveyor belts. "Oh, you would know...you was around in them days"...said like it was an insult. And she just kept insisting there was nothing she could do, as the belt needed to move things...that's what it was there for.

pasta, we are seeing the very worst of human nature at the moment, especially in the larger shops. I visited my local Co-op today and was amazed by what I saw or didn't see to be honest. I kept meeting up with the same young lady with her 8? yr old son. At one point we were both perusing half-empty aisles of shelving and I said it felt like I was on Ready, Steady Cook for the 10 minute item where there are just 3 ingredients and I have to come up with a magical recipe. Bless her she laughed and agreed.
I no longer take a shopping list with me but a wish list. Hmmmm,it is not working very well, so far.
On the plus side I did get my hair cut today :)

I had a problem last week when unloading my weekly shop on to conveyor belt and the chap behind me started putting his stuff on which I kept having to push back to finish putting mine down . //
Had exactly the same a couple of weeks ago in Tesco. He was slowly poshing the wife into a smaller place. I said to the wife swap places. He tried to do the same to me, but accidentally (on purpose) I lost my balance and had to stamp down to regain it. Unfortunately his toes were under my foot holding up my 14stone.
I obviously apologised profusely and said I wouldn't rush so much and then slowed down loading the belt, moving the divider as I went.
He wasn't young either but he did stand on the other foot for a while.
