Hi Vinnietheveggie, glad you identified the tune - I agree that Spring is a lovely tune (as are all the others of course). This is one of the few tunes they continued to use in series 14. So far though in series 15, I've only heard it once and in fact they are using the 'older music' even less than in 14. Although much of the current music is that of Paul Mottram, they have seemingly even ditched his 'Morning dew' and 'Green & pleasant land'. They are using hardly any guitar/ piano tunes now and much as I like the current music, I'm still disappointed that the pre series 14 music is not used. Some of the current series 15 music is akin to Feature Film incidental music - totally out of context with the programme in my view. Re the original 'Opening theme' - I have been exploring & sampling most of Acoustic Alchemy's stuff but drawn a blank. Some months back, I sampled as much of Matt Coldrick's music as I was able - none of it was in any way of similar style to the opening theme. I did attempt to contact Matt but never received a reply so still no closer to solving this mystery. I also found it offered by one of the 'Mobile ring tone' sites - simply labelled as........ yes you've guest it! ...... Escape to the Country opening theme. I even emailed the web site to ask if they know the track title - again no response. This was in addition to me contacting the programme makers (Boundless / Fremantle media) - who did supply a small list of some of the previous tracks but again no response when I specifically asked about the opening theme. Someone out there knows.............
