Why Is There Such Lunacy In The Uk Over Shopping
20 Answers
We are in “lockdown” in Portugal in that bars, discos and nightclubs are closed, as are non essential shops. Restaurants can serve takeaway meals especially in the more isolated villages. Supermarkets are restricting the number of people in at one time and then it is one out one in. At most times there are 10 to 15 people waiting outside. One trolley at a time loads for the cashier. People stand two trolley distant away. There is no panic buying and we have plenty of loo rolls and most other essentials. Whatever happened to the great British wartime spirit?

Side note - amazing to think that 80 years ago was WWII and 80 years time is 2100! There are people alive now who were adults during WWII, who can have a sensible conversation with adults alive now who will still be alive in 2100.

er yes - and no - my mother ( my father was a German POW for five years and deffo had less of the blitz spirit after that ) was at Mile End when it was bombed - the whole of the 'house' ( all the juniors) went down to Cas to help with the casualties and the neighbouring streets carried jugs and kettles of boiled water for sterile dressings
depends of course
midder - the student was met at the head of the street by a resident and taken to the home delivery to deliver the ickle war time baby as otherwise the poncy sid would get robbed beaten up
