applying for two jobs, with the same organisation

I found a job which i would like to apply for with an organisation but i have just seen another one advertised on their webpage. Should i apply for both then they may select me for the most appropriate one, or will doing this just give the excuse to bin both applications?!

I was in the same situation and applied for both jobs using seperate application forms, I tailoured the personal statement section to each job, I was lucky enough to be interviewed for one job and got it, my application for the second job was then stopped automatically.

ok that sounds good. Well done. I always tailor the personal statement bit anyway.

hope this is all spelt right, not got my glasses on so cant see v well!
