I have grown a number of different tomatoes over the past few years. None however has ever approached the yield, sweetness and tenderness of Gardener's Delight. This year I am growing Sun Baby, Tumbler, and Ailsa Craig alongside my usual Gardener's Delight (of which 4 plants, hundreds of fruits), but it's always the GD I go for at dinner time. Small, lusciously sweet and tender, pick, rinse and eat. Indoor grown, in a very hot conservatory.

yes agreed GD are just lovely..... the first time I grew tomatoes I chose that variety - beginner's luck. I had 5 plants, far too many for me & supplied my neighbours & friends for the whole season!
We have a couple of baskets of tumblers this year..Garden Pearl variety ....delicious little tomatoes.
Years ago there was a variety called Coles that was a small, not as small as the cherry type that I used to have in Trowbridge,Wilts.I think it was developed by a local man of the same name.I think that the seed was sold to one of the big seed suppliers and disappeared as it probably was not a heavy cropper but the flavour was fantastic not like the rubbish that is sold today in supermarkets.
Have to agree, Gardeners Delight is my favourite.
I too grow several varieties outdoors and have to admit, the flavour and reliability of Gardener's Delight is hard to beat. I have also grown Shirley in the past which is another very good cherry tomato. I tried yellow tomatoes one year - found the flavour very disappointing (quite banana-ery) and don't seem to get good results with Marmande. So I usually settle for for a mixture of GD and Ailsa Craig or good old Moneymaker.
