yeah some of the public health doctors seem to need a good kicking on the grounds they are raising points which they know are irrelevant
but are seen to be spiky and likely to lead to a repeat invitation

by and large the govt advisers seem sane

the beeb expert changes every day - presumably in the search to get someone to say what they want
one even said on air - I am a latent virus expert and this is not a latent virus so quite honestly I dont know why I am here

Here in Spain we get told what to do, basically because the Government knows that is the only way most people would listen, and that they would then have power to deal with those who wouldn’t listen. The Government in the UK thinks the people are better than that, as did I, and would follow guidance sensibly. Seeing what happened this weekend, and reading posts on here I am beginning to doubt that now.

Comments please from the Boris Brigade after the news this morning showing doctors and nurses saying their lives are in danger due to the lack of protective clothing. The news that flights are still arriving daily from China, Italy and other infected countries.
School principles telling they are expected to mind key workers when they do not even have hand sanitisers.
Matt Hancock advises them to use soap and keep the children 2 meters apart! You couldn't make it up.
Then we get a choreographed clip of Hancock in shirt sleeves lifting a box of face masks off a lorry!
Hope you can all be so supportive of Boris in 2 weeks time.

This policy of allowing planes in every day from these badly infected countries is ridiculous.To shut pubs,clubs etc is right but it doesn’t help when potentially infected people are still being allowed in.Government should this down quickly.

I have up until now been quite happy with his daily briefings,,, as he leaves the important questions to the experts. Bit following the behaviour of people who have simply ignored the advice to stay at home , social distancing. It’s about time he acted like a P/M and used his power to demand people abide with the rules. Otherwise you Boris and your government have let the country down ( as well as the idiots who think this being isolated is really just a wee holiday .

A Boing Dreamliner has just landed at Heathrow possibly with 250 people or more on board plus the crew. While ever this continues there’s a hole in the dam and a flaw in the plan.

I have friends whose family have just been flown home from abroad, one family from Canada and the other couple from Spain.
