So it will be novel, if not very surprising, if they attend to reports of clandestine imbibing.

In days of yore before there were thought police. The local Bobby would hear a whisper and have a quiet word with the landlord. Those days are gone. Nowadays political expediency dictates policy. Ms Dick of the Met being a shining example. It’s all smoke and mirrors, very little real policing. Shame, some of us deserve better.
In England, it's Trading Standards and Environmental Health who'll be checking compliance with the new Regulations.
