Weird Question Regarding Protein

I have just enough dry food for Sammi to last 2 more meals. More on order but will come any time from Thursday until April 6. I can order something else from Amazon, but the protein content is somewhat higher than what Sammi needs...30% vs 20%. I'd get that on Thursday with prime...or, there's leftover dry cat food @34%.
Any thoughts?

Has a vet prescribed a low protein diet? Healthy cats need around 35-40% protein. You can easily lower the ratio by mixing plain pasta with the diet.

That's correct, LB. I meant to order the dry sooner but lost track of Amazon's cut off for delivery tomorrow. I do have wet food for him.

Hmmm! Changing his diet?? Could you possible order from Amazon now. Then in the meantime divide what you have left into 4 portions and then put pasta in each portion to make it enough to satisfy him? Would that be better than changing his diet completely?

I've just been advised by the rescue to not give pasta. Just as well...I rarely eat it.
I'll stretch his food with more meat. Also, since I've been doing reward based training with him, it's ok to reduce the size of his meals.

You can slacken off the meat with boiled brown rice. Its safe for dogs as there is no gluten in it.
