Walking alone in my local park, seeing someone in front ( or behind ) and stepping to one side or even crossing the path to keep away , strange times indeed

I went shoppig early yesterday morning and, rather than take a 7-mile round trip to get to Asda, I deliberately went on a 30-mile round trip to get to Waitrose. I had to queue for about 10 minutes to get in but everyone, including the friendly security guard, was really pleasant.
When I got inside there were probably no more than a dozen people in the store and, because of the queuing system outside, it stayed that way. People were courteously standing to one side to allow others to pass at a distance and there were plenty of friendly smiles exchanged. I was there for about an hour and it was a very pleasant experience throughout. (I made a point of speaking to the manager to thank him for everything).
So perhaps you should try a different supermarket chain?
