I have an old iPad that I want to give to my dad. I have a newer one and an iPhone with stuff like photos and books in the Cloud.

Daft question probably, but if I reset the old iPad to factory settings will all the stuff in the Cloud be safe?

If the files that are on the "old" iPad are accessible on your new iPad and iPhone then yes. I would check your account settings twice, and then again, then do the re-set. Does your account not list which devices have access to your cloud storage?

P.S. I do not run Apple gear.
Log off the ipad before resetting it and it will not be able to access the cloud.
