Have reduced services affected you?
Just found out that the bus I use to get to/from work has been taken off (as of today) during the present crisis.

I’m not allowed out anyway Nailit :0(
We are both in imposed exclusion.
Here in London, I've seen buses coming in threes and transporting only 2/3 passengers each. Disgraceful waste of petrol.
I thought we were gonna have a Sunday service.
I feel sorry for those crammed on crowded tube trains in London - crowded because they've reduced the service.

I can understand the bus service *reducing* services on the grounds that hardly anyone is using them and to reduce infection risk and indeed (in Stoke anyway) thats what they have done and made bus times hourly. But they have also suspended 6 service routes, including mine, so that 'key workers,' who havnt got their own transport, are stuffed.
Contrast this with the packed London Tube and it becomes a ridiculous scenario...
I am fortunate in being able to drive for my essential journeys, but every single First bus I have passed since the lockdown started has been completely empty.
Would the Trussell Trust pay for a taxi for you, Nails?
When I went out today for a walk, every bus I saw was completely empty, seemed to many running about for a Sunday, my be it will take a time to get their head round when they need to run, or cancel?
if you run a public service like TfL, there's nothing much you can do about the buses being empty - they don't have minivans in reserve they can use on quiet days (as private companies may do).

They may have to Tills if it comes to it. We are now down to a skeleton staff and Im the only driver left (a couple of volunteer drivers have self isolated) and its a bloody long walk from Hanley to Blurton (and back)
It is, Nails. If they need you, which they do, then they should help out with the cost of getting you into work.
Nailit, if you are their only driver at the moment would they let you take the vehicle home and use it to and from work?

You read my mind ;-)
Not sure, something about the insurance clauses on it I think. (Being secured overnight etc)
Will find out tomorrow, would save me a lot of kerfuffle if I could.
could you cycle?
