Am trying to rip to file & player. Message "The path of the folder location where ripped files are stored is too long (max 250 characters) Or the file name is invalid. Change the file & folder options for CD ripping in your settings".
Only probs with this disc. Title/Artist etc is not 250 characters. Settings only seem to ask for title/artist etc as with all others.
Help.

Does the file name contain any illegal characters?

Windows (and probably the software on your MP3 player as well) wonn't allow any of the following characters in file names:
? [ ] / \ = + < > : ; " , *

Chris
Make sure you are not trying to use any of the following characters in the file name as they are reserved and can't be used.

? " / \ < > * | :

Thanks. Sorry to have taken so long in replying but have had to remove manually all the : from 25 titles! It hasn't been a prob before - I've checked back & I've got other albums with [ ] : etc in the titles
Although Chris is rarely wrong he did include a few characters in his list that are not recommended to use but are allowable.

from you last reply, file names with [ or ] in them will work, ones with : won't so I'd bet you have no files with : in the name (it will probably shows in the full path as that will start something like c:\ as the colon shows that the C is a drive letter)
Long path tool was always there for me in this type of

problem. I've been using it for months now and it is

really helpful
