Using Zoom For A Family Quiz
2 Answers
I am hoping to organise a quiz for family members and am wondering if Zoom might be a good way to do it.
I have used Zoom before as a participant, not as an organiser so my only experience is clicking on the invitation link and up pops everyone who has been invited onto my laptop screen.
There would be 12 households taking part and it would probably last a bit over an hour.
So some of my questions are . . .
1) Is it free?
2) I have read that it lasts for 40 minutes, is that for a free version or can it be longer?
3) Can it be accessed on any device eg tablets and phones?
Thanks.

So would I be able to do it over 3 separate half hour sessions one after the other? (we could use the breaks as opportunities to refresh drinks and do piddles!)
Or does anyone know of an alternative set up that would work better than Zoom?

We’ve been using Zoom in much the same way as you intend, yes, back to back meetings are possible, it runs on Mac, Windows, iPads, Android so pretty well everything. As an organiser you’re best off running it on a computer as opposed to a phone/tablet as you can see all of the participants at one, the mobile versions can only display 4 windows at once. Easy enough to register yourself and set up meetings. I first used it at the beginning of lockdown & I find I like it a lot.
