MAKE ANSWERBANK COMPATIBLE WITH A MAC!!!!!!! Can't believe I spent half an hour writing response to a travel question, to have it rejected and lose it when I tried to preview.

that's just sloppy in this day and age - I'm not impressed with your web team!

Which web browser are you using?

That is more pertinent than the machine you are using.
If you spent half an hour writing a response i'm not surprised it didn't work.
The site has problems with long answers at times - it's not a mac thing and something I believe they're aware of and working to fix.
I don't know how long you have been an ABer, but most of us irregulars would say that it would be sloppy not to copy the text of your answer before posting it!

It has happened to all of us, and frustrating as it is, that's technology for you.

Thanks for responses, I've calmed down now and found no more problems. I also had trouble earlier with another site and lost some valuable info so maybe I over-reacted. It did take a while to write my reply so maybe that was it.

I'm using Safari on OSX, I just get really hacked off with the lack of Mac access sometimes - although my complaint did make a difference to the Debenhams website, which is now fully compatible so it just shows it's worth kicking off sometimes..
Well, since you asked so nicely and politely! jeesh!
I've worked on a Mac for many years, starting with Classic and moving on up to OSX. I've used either Safari, Firefox or the now obsolete Explorer and I've rarely experienced 'lack of Mac access' on the Internet (and my job is internet based)

I don't mean to be rude, but I suspect that it's a user problem, not an AB problem. Perhaps you need to upgrade your browser, or try using a different one.

I'll go away and have myself spanked at once!!

I do actually bristle a bit at the 'user problem not AB problem'. I, too, have been Mac based for about 15 years both at work and at home, and also work on designing websites for clients so maybe I'm biased.

But there are lots of other major suppliers who admit they aren't Mac-compatible, including companies I've had hiccups with today - like Laterooms (who are working on the problem) and Hamptons. I guess we're only the 5% so we aren't that important commercially.

I run four different browsers and when I hit a problem I try those sites with all of them. Some work with the defunct Explorer, some with Mozilla, some with Safari.

On a brand new computer with wireless networking, hot off the production line and running a pre-loaded browser, I would kind of hope a current website might work.

Still, if any Mac users have any advice for the best possible browser or a way of getting round these problems, then of course it would be gratefully received.

Finally I have said I haven't had problems since; that was my first taste of AB, I didn't expect the comment to be posted rather than going to the webmaster (which will teach me not to tick 'I have read and understood..' boxes in future)..
