I avoid all fund-raising programmes, such as Children in Need, like the plague ( - or should that be like Covid-19?). I've got absolutely nothing against their aims and, if someone waves a collecting bucket under my nose, I'm happy to chuck in a tenner or two. It's simply that the actual programme content is usually appalling!
