That's a seriously over-simplified assessment of a deeply complex and difficult social phenomenon.
God is not 'banished' at all, despite your biblical phraseology, and I'm surprised you didn't manage to liken Hollywood to Sodom and Gomorrah while you were about it.
You can imagine that all the ills of the world are down to mankind 'turning his back' on God, but that is a typically Christian answer to everything - God is wonderful, it's man that is the problem.
Since God 'created man in his own image', you have to wonder where the 'fault' actually lies - if simplicity is what floats your boat.
